Grace Benitez is an undergraduate nursing student at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas. She is also a student athlete participating in competitive cheerleading and would like to further her knowledge of bioethics. Grace shared that “integrating faith and health, I believe, should be the main goal of every Catholic nurse’s role, regardless of the patient and their beliefs. I do not mean this as an imposition of belief, but rather as simply being the hands and feet of Jesus to the best of our abilities.” School of Nursing Director, Jackie Harris, DNP, APRN and Endowed Chair, Robert J. Deheamers highly recommended Grace and reported that she was an outstanding candidate. They describe Grace as “a well-rounded, faith driven, young woman who brings joy and compassion to every environment.
