Isabella O’Donnell is our 2026 Eula Sforza Scholarship recipient. An undergraduate nursing student at Benedictine College in Atchison, KS, Isabella stated, ‘Saint Teresa of Calcutta famously said, “give your hands to serve, and your hearts to love.” I take inspiration in my roles from Saint Teresa, and her quiet dedication not only to our Lord, but to the service of others. Eula Awbrey Sforsa, President of the National Association of Catholic Nurses, USA (NACN-USA) from 1993 to 1996, served as a registered nurse during World War II in the USA, England, and France. Eula was born on February 21, 1920, in Fordsville, Kentucky on a snowy morning. She grew up in Owensboro, Kentucky, in poverty. Her father made an attempt at farming.
