Chastity
Universal Chastity Education, Uganda
In the 1980s and early 1990s, HIV/AIDS devastated many lives in Africa. At that time, Uganda had the highest rate of HIV in the world, with 21% of their population infected. The Ugandan response that proved effective was their approach: “Abstinence, Be Faithful, through Christ,” that is, a person waited to have sexual intercourse until marriage and was faithful to that person in marriage.
This method was counter-cultural since polygamy is intertwined in African culture. The Ugandans figured if they begged God to intervene in their crisis, got down on their knees to pray, went back to their Biblical teaching, then surely that should help! In 2001, Uganda surprised the world by reducing their HIV/AIDs rate to 5% by changing their behavior to adopt “Abstinence, Be Faithful through Christ.”
It was their faith in God and prayer vigils that gave them the strength to change their behavior. UCE was founded in 2004 to continue to help them in their Christian approach to fighting HIV/AIDS and living healthy lives through spreading the message of “Abstinence, Be Faithful, through Christ.” The Africans remind us that “Our God is a God of second chances!” Since UCE was founded in 2004, we are approaching 500,000 chastity commitments signed by youth and individuals!

Immunizations Derived from Aborted Fetal Tissue
- Vatican response to Mrs. Vinnedge, Executive Director, Children of God for Life regarding the request for clarification on whether it is licit to vaccinate children with vaccines prepared using cell lines derived from aborted human fetuses [Read More]
- there is a grave responsibility to use alternative vaccines and to make a conscientious objection with regard to those which have moral problems;
- as regards the vaccines without an alternative, the need to contest so that others may be prepared must be reaffirmed, as should be the lawfulness of using the former in the meantime insomuch as is necessary in order to avoid a serious risk not only for one’s own children but also, and perhaps more specifically, for the health conditions of the population as a whole – especially for pregnant women;
- the lawfulness of the use of these vaccines should not be misinterpreted as a declaration of the lawfulness of their production, marketing and use, but is to be understood as being a passive material cooperation and, in its mildest and remotest sense, also active, morally justified as an extrema ratio due to the necessity to provide for the good of one’s children and of the people who come in contact with the children (pregnant women);
- such cooperation occurs in a context of moral coercion of the conscience of parents, who are forced to choose to act against their conscience or otherwise, to put the health of their children and of the population as a whole at risk. This is an unjust alternative choice, which must be eliminated as soon as possible.

Yoga – Christian Alternatives
Yoga is considered one of the six branches of classical Hindu philosophy. Its goal is to reach “Kaivalya” (ultimate freedom) by releasing the soul from the chains of cause and effect (karma) which tie the person to continual reincarnation. Yoga uses physical exercises, powers of concentration and breathing techniques as well as meditation to achieve these ends and attain union with Brahman.”You can’t take a Hindu practice, throw some Christian music in the mix, and call it worshiping the one True God…This isn’t the way God asked us to worship Him” (Deut. 12:31).
