On August 9, 2024 in Nairobi, Kenya, two members of NACN-USA were elected by the International Catholic Committee of Nurses and Medico-social Assistants (CICIAMS) General Council to represent Catholic Nursing on the global healthcare stage. Elevated to international leadership were Dr. Anne T. Reeser, DNP, MSN, APRN-BC and Iveth Mavarez de Tarantino MS(c), RN, DNP Student / Multilingual Physician (Trained Overseas). Their talents, skills, hard work, and professionalism are positioned to impact religious liberty and right of conscience world-wide. As they share our Catholic faith and values with healthcare providers across nations, let us extend our gratitude, support, and prayers.

Dr. Anne T. Reeser, DNP, MSN, APRN-BC

NACN-USA Executive Board of Directors, Member- Region 4 of the National Association of Catholic Nurses, USA

Elected by the CICIAMS General Council on August 9, 2024 in Nairobi, Kenya to the position of CICIAMS Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) Representative to the United Nations (UN). CICIAMS Executive Board Member Term: 4 Years 2024-2028

As the CICIAMS NGO Representative to the United Nations (UN), Dr. Reeser will serve as an elected delegate with UN Roster Consultant Status within the United Nations Economic and Social Commission (ECOSOC), the UN Department of Global Communications (DGC) and the UN International Children’s Fund UNICEF. As a UN Delegate, Dr. Reeser actualizes opportunities to present before nation members and collaborate with other nation and UN NGO delegates in UN activities. Open communication and cooperation with members of the Permanent Observer Mission of the Holy See to the United Nations are to be maintained. Under the auspices of CICIAMS leadership, Dr. Reeser will continue a much-needed Catholic Nurse presence in UN global healthcare affairs. Also within her role, Dr. Reeser is a voting member of the CICIAMS Executive Board (Headquarters, Vatican City).

Iveth Mavarez de Tarantino, MS(c), RN, DNP Student / Multilingual Physician (Trained Overseas)

Member-Region 8 of the National Association of Catholic Nurses, USA

Elected by the CICIAMS General Council August 9, 2024 in Nairobi, Kenya to the position of CICIAMS President of the Pan American Region. Term: 4 Years 2024-2028

As CICIAMS President of the Pan American Region, Iveth Tarantino will represent and voice the interests of Catholic Nurses from the Pan American Region. As a Regional President, Iveth Tarantino is a voting member of the CICIAMS Executive Board (Headquarters, Vatican City). Each member of the CICIAMS Executive Board has one vote. In addition, Iveth Tarantino will coordinate CICIAMS activities among member Nation Associations within the Pan American Region. Pan American Regional activities may include seminars, prayer, and liturgical worship. Each CICIAMS Region can sponsor a Regional Congress open to the entire CICIAMS membership. Regional Congresses follow a preferred Regional 4-year rotation. Support for developing countries or regions with instability is encouraged. With her mastery of five languages, Iveth Tarantino will enhance outreach in the Pan American Region.
